AFM 6680 Legal, Ethical, and Policy Issues in Family Science

This guide will assist you with your AFM 6680 course. Use the GOLD TABS to navigate the guide.

This course will examine contemporary issues relating to families from legal, ethical and policy perspectives. Skills for being an effective advocate for families in multiple realms (e.g., policy) will be developed. Ethical questions and issues as they relate to professional practice will also be emphasized.

Applied Family Science Program - Tips for Success

Applied Family Science WilmU Organization
The Applied Family Science Organization is here to support you in your success in the program. There are extraneous education materials on a variety of subjects, updates on Grants and Employment, a Discussion Board where you can post questions and answer other students questions, a folder introducing the program and the professors who teach the AFM courses. This is a work in progress, feel free to send the Chair of the Program suggestions for other Family Life Education topics. Follow the self enroll instructions on the Organization tab to enroll.

It is recommended once you become a Graduate student in Applied Family Science that you either meet with the Chair in person or view the New Student Video to plan your program courses. Taking the course you need before your practicum is critical to your success.

Join as a student member (discounted membership for students) to NCFR. Once your complete you Master of Science in Applied Family Science you are elegible to apply to NCFR for your certification as a Family Life Educator. NCFR website has listservs and other supportive materials to guide you through the process. Additionally, there are weekly updates (sign up at the very bottom of the front page) that will provide you with the latest Family Science research and activities from around the Globe.
