We are excited to announce that the library now offers scite, an AI-powered research assistant, as part of our suite of research tools. Scite is designed to enhance and streamline the way you conduct research, harnessing the power of machine learning to provide you with insightful, citation-backed answers to your research questions. We believe this tool will be an invaluable asset to our academic community, enhancing the quality and efficiency of your research endeavors.

Scite helps researchers and scholars assess the quality of articles and can indicate the context in which an article has been cited and how it was applied in that context (Lund & Shamsi, 2023).

Our mission has always been to empower the WilmU community as they engage with information and pursue solutions to real-world problems. By licensing scite, we are providing our users with a cutting-edge tool that will significantly improve their research experience.

Search: an ever-growing database of scholarly sources, including open, publisher-direct, and library-licensed content

Smart Citations: scite uses what are referred to as “smart citations,” how a particular reference is used within the citing article, whether a particular citation supports, contrasts, or is neutral. Smart Citations are developed using advanced machine-learning models that extract and analyze citation statements from full-text articles. 

scite Assistant: Scite offers an AI chat tool that you can ask simple questions and get answers backed by scite's database of scholarly sources.

Customizable Settings: Tailor scite to your specific needs by adjusting settings such as year ranges, topics, publication types, and more.
