Seeking other views of Shakespeare's women

If you are seeking other interpretations of Shakespeare's women for your assignment, here are some tips to locate them in more modern art, music, dance, etc.

        If seeking Juliet, consider the following options:

Youtube.com search ‘Shakespeare Juliet’ or 'Romeo and Juliet' for videos

Wikipedia.org: search 'Romeo and Juliet' or ‘Shakespeare Juliet’ or 'Juliet Capulet' (Scroll to the bottom to find names of actors who performed the role, titles of some of the 24 operas based on Romeo and Juliet, links to various versions, etc.)

Google image search for art, videos, etc. Use similar search topics.

This is one example, using one leading lady. Be creative, there are lots of works that were inspired by Shakespeare if you look.

Women in Shakespeare

Much has been written about women and Shakespeare. You can engage in the scholarly conversation by reading and thinking and writing.  Here are some search terms to help you in your research, and here are a few resource you might find useful.

Watch the Plays

Who wrote the plays? How do you know?

How do you know who wrote something hundreds of years ago?  What do Shakespeare scholars say? What evidence do they cite?  Here are some resources to get you started.
